Dejan Minic, Founder & Managing Director
Minic was the founder of BST and has a wealth of experience in the supply chain across physical commodities. With more than 30 years of experience in the steel and steel related raw materials industry, he has created an efficient platform in the placement of products from origins all over the world to destinations mainly concentrated in fast developing markets in Asia. With the foresight of identifying China as the major future player in commodities globally, Minic established BST in Hong Kong (the gateway to China) and dedicated his time in developing strong relationships with the key industry players, providing them with a choice of products and services to suit their requirements.

Ashish Shukla, Partner & Managing Director
Ashish with more than 20 years of experience in the steel related raw materials industry and bulk commodities has been vital for the company’s success in establishing strong ties between the Indian and Chinese markets. He has forged life-long relationships at the highest level within the industry and has structured strategic partnerships which provide win-win solutions for BST and their partners. Ashish is also an expert in the operational risk aspects of the movement of physical commodities globally.

Lav Minic, Head of Business Development
Lav Minic, is an entrepreneur with a deep interest in commodities, energy, mining, technology, and geopolitics. He is not afraid to set ambitious goals and to speak of his grand long-term vision. However, the reason he is a true asset to the team is his innate bias towards action and execution which is a real moving force.
Before joining BST, Lav was a change-maker in some of the category-leading companies, such as OakNorth and Brydg Capital. Lav was also a founder of a tech startup Foundley, which was at one point valued at 5 million USD.
Lav Minic, graduated in Economics and Politics from Queen Mary University of London receiving Krystyna Renner Prize for outstanding academic achievement.

Paul Hung, Head of Coal
Paul Hung is responsible for BST’s steam coal trading since 2017. With over 25 years of experience in Coal trading, Paul has extensive connections and deep relationships with Chinese customers, and overseas suppliers. From 2004 to 2016, Paul headed both Steam and Coking Coal departments for General Nice Resources (Hong Kong) Ltd. During his days at General Nice, he was responsible for volumes in excess of 20 million metric tons per annum. Paul was at the forefront of Chinese expansion of Coal imports that has started around 2008, 2009.
Paul has Graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and holds an MBA in General Management.

Richard Shelley, Head of Risk Management
Richard has over 20 years of trading experience in the iron ore and steel industry and has worked in some of the leading organisations developing new risk management techniques for producers and consumers globally. Richard executes BST’s derivative requirements and runs their risk management portfolio. With BST’s large network of clients, Richard also provides advice to clients that have, or are looking for, exposure to the iron ore market (both physical and financial) and helps them design the risk profile they require by combining physical iron ore contracts and cash settled derivative contracts. Richard is also responsible for BST’s expansion into floating price physical contracts and can provide clients with flexible pricing methodologies, that leaves the choice of taking price risk in the clients’ hands.

Alok Dwivedi, Head of Shipping & Logistics
Alok runs BST’s shipping subsidiary, Globechart Pte. Ltd, and is responsible for chartering all BST’s physical shipping requirements. He is also responsible for the management of our third-party chartering business. Alok is a Master Mariner with 30 years of experience in Dry Bulk Shipping. Post his 19 years sailing, of which he spent 6 years in command on Bulk Carriers, he worked as Commercial Manager with reputed Dry Bulk ship owning company KC MARITIME LTD at their head office in Hong Kong, managing a fleet of 8 to 10 dry Bulk Carriers. In 2007, he joined Singapore-listed Noble Group company, Noble Chartering Limited, as Senior Vice President in Dry Bulk operations where along with other commercial operations-related responsibilities he was also maintaining a huge Fuel Oil Singapore Swaps derivative position.
